Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, NSW. Dr Weston has worked on the behaviour and ecology of insects that play important roles as pests or natural enemies in stored grains, vegetables, broadacre crops, ornamentals and pastures. In addition to conducting work on chemical ecology, Dr Weston has developed models to study the movement of insects and the role of trap cropping in controlling pests. Paul is the leader of Theme 4: Beetle database: collection and collation. This team is working to produce a variety of databases of dung beetle information, including distribution data, publications, photographs and biological information. In addition, Dr Weston will be constructing models to predict the impact of dung beetles on internal parasites of livestock as well as predicting the spread of dung beetles throughout Australia.
