Dr Jack Pronger is a soil scientist at Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research, based at Hamilton, New Zealand. Jack is involved in determining the effect of dung beetles on the movement of nutrients and pathogens through soil using lysimeters in both the NZ and Australia components of the Dung Beetle Ecosystem Engineers Project. Broadly, Jacks research interests focus on understanding and manipulating soil, water and plant processes to optimise agricultural systems and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions to support sustainable and wise use of natural assets.
