Abstract Note

An Afrotropical scarab beetle, the ball-roller Kheper aeratus (Gerstaecker), was reared in controlled conditions. Nesting behaviour and parental care are described. This behaviour is interpreted in the framework of subsociality in Scarabaeidae. © 1992 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
