Abstract Note

Summary: Based on a series of specimens from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we report the very first records of Paracryptocanthon borgmeieri, after the original description, as well as the first observation and detailed description of its male genitalia. In addition, we describe Paracryptocanthon genierin. sp., from the city of Vitória, Espírito Santo, Brazil, a second species for the genus. Both species of this genus are brachypterous and restricted to small areas subjected to intense anthropic action; therefore, we propose both taxa should be considered as potentially endangered by International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) criteria. © 2017 Société entomologique de France.
