Development and histology of the ovary in Cephalodesmius armiger Westwood (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae, Scarabaeinae)

The relationships of reproductive behavior and ovarian development in Cephalo- desmius armiger Westwood were established. The reproductive cycle comprises nidification, sexual behavior and care of offspring. Each phase is related to a physiological ovarian stage. Histology of each phase is described.
